Covered Bridges Near North Conway, NH

There are several covered bridges in North Conway and they offer beautiful, picturesque moments.


There are four popular bridges in North Conway. The Saco River Covered Bridge was constructed in 1890 and it stands over the Saco River right by Conway Village.


There is also the Swift River Covered Bridge which is very close to the Saco River Bridge by Conway Village and Russ-Tee Bucket Ranch. This bridge is a beautiful red color that blends amazingly with the colored leaves during autumn and is a bright contrast against the green of summer and the white of winter.


If you decide to head a little further head to Jackson, NH! Their covered bridge is quite famous in the area. It's known as the Honeymoon or Kissing Bridge. This beautiful bridge crosses the Ellis River near Jackson Village. Head there with your loved one to take an infamous kissing photo the bridge is named for.


The last bridge on our list is the Whittier River Covered Bridge in Ossipee, NH (just a short drive out of Conway). Make a stop there if you're heading out to Silver Lake for a day of boating or beaching and capture a magical moment in real time!

 

Take the scenic drive up the tallest peak in the North East and enjoy the sights all the way up to the top. The road climbs up over 4,000 feet and overlooks the White Mountain National Forest and the Valley.


On a clear day you can see up to 70 miles which sometimes includes the Atlantic Ocean if you're lucky.


The views are spectacular t all different times of year. The road is open from May to late October (weather permitting of course) and offers a whole variety of colors due to New England's seasons.


You can also hike, take a guided tour, or take the SnowCoach in the winter. We also have the cog railway!


No matter when you head up, there are great photographic opportunities on the North East's tallest scenic overlook.

The Conway Scenic Railroad is a great way to see the White Mountains and the Presidential Range with the added bonus of riding an old school train--talk about photogenic moments.


There are two trains to choose from--the Notch train, which is the most scenic--and the Valley train. The trains are old fashioned and leave from the station that was erected in 1874.


​The Notch train brings you by the Frankenstein Trestle, Willey Brook Bridge, past cliffs, ravines, falls, rivers and streams. Get a picture of you drinking coffee in a vintage train with the view of panoramic mountains in the window behind you.


There is no better way to spend the day!

An easy hike up the cliff, the beach looking toward the cliff, or the views from the top of Cathedral Ledge all provide great photo opportunities to get up on the 'gram!

Even if Instagram isn't your thing, you can take a great photo and print it and frame it for your home! Either way, it's a photogenic moment that shouldn't go to waste.

North Conway Fall Foliage - Kancamagus Highway

The Kanc or Kancamagus Highway is a 34 mile highway that cuts right through the White Mountain National Forest and it provides some of the most breathtaking views that the White Mountains has to offer.


There are no gas stations, hotels, stores, or any other types of businesses that puncture the Kancamagus aesthetics. There are plenty of campgrounds and Instagram worthy views to stop along the way.


Make a whole weekend of it and enjoy the scenic drive down an old road. Pack up the family and the tents and go camping.


Your "Instagrammable moments" are all around you just waiting to be taken advantage of.

 

The Crawford Notch State Park is 5,776 acres of land filled to the brim with hiking trails, waterfalls, wildlife and mountain views.


There are great campgrounds around and the historic Willey House.


There are steep cliffs and outstanding views throughout the park whether you're driving by it or walking within it. There is a small, somewhat difficult hike to get to the falls, but it's well worth the trip.


Be engulfed in the natural beauty that New Hampshire provides--photo opportunity or not. You'll have your breath taken away by the views.

 

The last spot on our list is the great Mt. Chocorua: a site filled with as much legend as it is beauty. The hike to the top is a little difficult but well worth it.


Take a picnic and sit at the top so that you can breathe in the energy, views, and history of the mountain.


You will get great views of Mount Washington and the surrounding mountains. You'll also be able to walk along the ridge over open ledges and several peaks!


When the day is done, drive to Chocorua Lake for a dip. There's public parking and great swimming. You might even see me on my horses taking a swim!
